Two Decades Serving Coral Springs
First elected as a City Commissioner in 2002, Scott went on to serve as Mayor from 2006 to 2010 and was elected Mayor again in March 2019 following the sudden passing of his friend, Mayor Skip Campbell. He was sworn in for additional terms in 2022 and 2024, continuing a legacy of steady, trusted governance.

Bridging Residents and Government
Scott has remained deeply committed to bridging the gap between residents and local government — rooted in transparency, accessibility, and collaboration. Under his leadership, Coral Springs became the first city in the United States to receive the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and he founded the Community-Involved Government Committee.
A Voice for Mental Health
Leading with Compassion
A nationally recognized advocate for mental health awareness, Scott is a Telly Award winner and Emmy Award recipient for a powerful, personal message on suicide awareness and prevention. He founded the Mental Wellness Networking Alliance and co-founded Project Leadership to support the emotional wellbeing of families throughout the community.
Decades of Legal Experience
An Advocate for Families
Scott earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University, completed his MBA on a fellowship, and graduated from the University of Miami School of Law. A member of the Florida Bar, he has practiced before the Florida Supreme Court and courts across the state. In 2020 he founded Scott J. Brook, P.A., focused on family law and estate planning — always advocating for families with fairness and dignity.
